Side-opening footrests
Each footrest moves sideways at a right angle. The podiatrist sits between the client's legs and works on the foot from above, not from the side. For treatments of ingrown toenails or work on the nail folds, this is the only sensible position.
Each footrest adjusts separately
The angle of one leg does not change the position of the other. You raise the leg you are currently working on higher, while the other remains lower and supported. The client does not have to hold it up using their muscles throughout the treatment.
