Gabbiano Porto gray-and-black hairdressing backwash unit

Gap between the backrest and seat
There is no contact between two surfaces beneath the backrest where hair could collect. The gap runs across the entire width of the chair, so a vacuum cleaner nozzle can reach underneath without moving the furniture away from the wall. In a backwash unit with a solid backrest, the same hair would have to be pulled out from beneath the upholstery by hand.
Basin collar with cushion
The neck rests against plastic, not cold ceramic. The collar is contoured for the neck and covered with a cushion. The basin itself measures 56 x 50 cm and is 20 cm deep, while its edge is 38 cm above the base. The basin angle can be adjusted to suit the client's height.
Gray armrests with black upholstery
The armrests are gray, the fittings are black, and the base is white. Three metal finishes meet in one piece of furniture, each on a different element. The armrest extends 37 cm along the seat and has a 4 cm wide profile.
Mixer tap
You set the temperature with a single lever, without searching for the right proportions. The tap is positioned at the back of the basin, out of the client's head's reach. Next to it is a dedicated place to set down the hand shower, so it does not lie in the basin or block the drain.
Plug with strainer
The strainer catches hair before it enters the trap. The chrome plug closes the drain when filling the basin and filters the water at all other times. The collected clump remains on top and can be removed by hand.
Connection hidden in the base
The pipes run inside the wedge, not along the wall. The rear wall of the base has an inspection hatch, so the plumbing can be accessed without removing the basin. The backwash unit requires a permanent connection to the water supply and drain.
Synthetic leather upholstery
Under the upholstery is foam that resists deformation. The seat is 9 cm thick, and the backrest is 43 cm high. The surface is smooth, with a single seam along the edge, so there are no recesses where dye can collect.

The basin angle is adjusted using screws with nuts at its mounting points, and adjustment may be necessary after transport. Loosen the nut, tighten the screw underneath, then tighten the nut again: one pair of screws tilts the basin downward, and the other upward. Tighten them gradually, a little on each side. If the basin still drops after adjustment, contact us.
