Gabbiano Porto black hairdressing backwash unit
A backwash unit with a ceramic basin mounted on a white wedge-shaped base. The upholstery, armrests, and fittings are black, so the furniture reads as a contrast of black and white rather than a single solid block. Gap between the backrest and seat
Hair does not collect in a recess because there is no recess beneath the backrest. In a typical backwash unit, the backrest meets the seat, and everything that falls from the client's head collects along this line. Porto has free space across the entire width of the chair, so a broom or vacuum cleaner can pass underneath in a single motion. With ten washes a day, one pass at the end of the shift is enough.
Basin rim with cover
The neck rests on plastic, not cold ceramic. The rim is contoured to fit the neck and covered with an overlay, so the client does not lie on a hard edge. The basin itself is 56 cm wide, 50 cm deep, and positioned 38 cm above the base, while its angle can be adjusted to suit the client's height. The ceramic does not absorb hair-dye pigments or become dull from styling products.
Mixer tap
You set the temperature with one lever, without having to find the right proportions. The tap is positioned at the back of the basin, out of the client's head's reach. There is also a dedicated place to put the shower handset, so it does not lie in the basin and block the drain. The complete tap set comes with the hoses.
Plug with strainer
The strainer catches hair before it enters the trap. The chrome-plated plug closes the drain while also filtering the water. It is a small detail that saves you from calling a plumber, because the hair stays on top, where it is immediately visible and can be removed by hand.
Connection concealed in the base
The pipes run inside the wedge, not along the wall. The rear wall of the base has an inspection flap, so the installation can be accessed without removing the basin. Nothing protrudes from the outside except the shower hose. The backwash unit requires a permanent connection to the water supply and drain, like any backwash unit with a basin.
Metal armrests
The armrest is 37 cm long, with a profile 4 cm wide. Its shape is geometric, bent at a right angle rather than oval. The edge is positioned at the height where the hand rests naturally. In this version, the finish is black and aligns with the upholstery.
Synthetic leather upholstery
The upholstery is backed with deformation-resistant foam. The seat is 9 cm thick and the backrest is 43 cm high. The surface is smooth, with a single seam along the edge, so there are no recesses where dye can collect. Synthetic leather withstands daily wiping with an alcohol-free product.

The basin angle is adjusted using the screws and nuts at its mount, and adjustment may be needed after transport. Loosen the nut, tighten the screw underneath, then tighten the nut again: one pair of screws tilts the basin downward, the other upward. Tighten them gradually, a little on each side. If the basin still drops after adjustment, contact us.
