Gabbiano Porto beige-and-gold hairdressing wash unit
Beige upholstery on a white base, with gold armrest arcs and black fittings. Gold appears only on the two arms; the rest of the metal around the basin is black. The construction is shared by the entire Porto family: a ceramic basin with an adjustable angle and a gap beneath the backrest.

Gap between the backrest and seat
There is no junction between two surfaces beneath the backrest where hair could collect. The gap runs across the entire width of the chair, so a vacuum nozzle can reach underneath without moving the unit away from the wall. In a wash unit with a solid backrest, the same hair would have to be pulled out from beneath the upholstery by hand.
Basin collar with pad
The neck rests on plastic rather than cold ceramic. The collar is shaped to support the neck and covered with a pad. The basin itself measures 56 x 50 cm and is 20 cm deep, while its edge is 38 cm above the base. The basin angle can be adjusted to suit the client's height.
Gold arms with beige upholstery
Gold covers only the two armrest arcs. The arm is bent into an open rectangle and runs 37 cm along the seat, with a profile 4 cm wide. The tap, handset, and hose remain black, so the gold does not spread across the entire unit.
Mixer tap
You set the temperature with one lever, without searching for the right proportions. The tap is positioned at the back of the basin, out of the client's head area. There is a dedicated place beside it to put the handset, so it does not lie in the basin or block the drain.
Plug with strainer
The strainer catches hair before it enters the trap. The chrome-plated plug closes the drain when filling the basin and filters the water at all other times. The collected clump sits on top and can be removed by hand.
Connection concealed in the base
The pipes run inside the wedge, not along the wall. The back wall of the base has an inspection flap, so the plumbing can be accessed without removing the basin. The wash unit requires a permanent connection to the water supply and drain.
Synthetic leather upholstery
The upholstery is backed with deformation-resistant foam. The seat is 9 cm thick, and the backrest is 43 cm high. The surface is smooth, with a single stitch along the edge, so there are no recesses where hair dye can collect.

Use alcohol-free products without strong detergents. Alcohol-based products and products such as Cif remove the protective layer from synthetic leather, causing the material to become dull and lose its elasticity.
The basin drops downward. What should I do?
The basin angle is adjusted using the screws and nuts at its mounting point, and correction may be needed after transport. Loosen the nut, tighten the screw underneath, then tighten the nut again: one pair of screws tilts the basin downward, the other upward. Tighten them gradually, a little on each side. If the basin still drops after adjustment, contact us.
