Gabbiano 050 black Head SPA hairdressing backwash unit

The Gabbiano 050 is a Head SPA backwash unit without a recliner, mounted on locking casters. It is placed next to a chair or recliner and rolled against the wall after the treatment. It requires a water connection just like a traditional backwash unit – the closed circuit applies only to the water massage ring. The unit measures 65 x 57 cm, with a housing height of 57 cm.

Key features

  • Wheeled construction with locking casters, without a recliner – the backwash unit is placed next to a chair
  • Requires water and drainage connections, like a traditional hairdressing backwash unit
  • Gold arch with adjustable tilt angle for Waterfall Head SPA water massage, operating in a closed circuit
  • Three water-jet modes: soft, comfort and strong
  • Control panel with adjustment of time, temperature and water-jet intensity, plus basin illumination
  • The set includes a steamer, basin attachment (steam hood) and remote control
  • Overall dimensions: 65 x 57 cm; housing height: 57 cm; basin depth: 18 cm

Three water-jet modes and Waterfall water massage

You can adjust the water-jet intensity on the panel without interrupting the treatment. The gold arch, with an adjustable tilt angle, guides water jets over the client's head. It is the only element operating in a closed circuit: the pump draws water from the basin and directs it back to the arch, so the massage can continue without refilling. Choose from three jet modes: soft, comfort and strong. The water massages the scalp, supports its cleansing and relieves neck tension.

Steam therapy and aromatherapy

The steam hood is 42 cm high and 39 cm wide, so it encloses the steam around the entire head. The set includes a steamer and a dedicated basin attachment (steam hood) that directs steam onto the hair. Steam helps active ingredients from masks and ampoules penetrate the hair, improves its structure and restores its shine. The steamer is controlled by a remote control from anywhere in the salon. Essential oils can be added to the steam, combining the treatment with aromatherapy.

Control panel and light therapy

The panel is mounted on the side wall of the housing, at standing hand height. The touch panel displays the current settings and allows you to adjust the operating time, temperature and water-stream intensity. The same panel activates light therapy, namely illumination of the basin that creates the treatment atmosphere.

Basin, tap and drain

The shampoo unit has no built-in tank or heater—it operates using water from the installation. The 18 cm deep plastic basin limits splashing of water and cosmetics, while its curved shape makes it easier for the practitioner to access the client. The mixer tap allows you to quickly adjust the water temperature, and the chrome plug with strainer catches hair before it reaches the drain. The water connection is concealed inside the housing behind a flexible-material cover. The temperature control on the panel regulates the water supplied from the installation—the unit neither stores nor heats it.

What are the wheels for if water is still required?

The wheels free you from a permanent piece of furniture, not from the water installation. This distinction determines whether this model makes sense for your salon. The shampoo unit requires a water supply and drain connection exactly like a traditional hairdressing shampoo unit, so you cannot place it just anywhere. The lockable wheels and handle built into the housing do, however, provide three things that a stationary station does not:

  • You reclaim floor space between treatments. A salon that offers Head SPA treatments several times a week does not have to permanently sacrifice space for a lounger over 200 cm long. After the treatment, you roll the shampoo unit against the wall, and the station returns to regular use.
  • You can serve several water points. If the salon has more than one connection point, one unit can be moved between them instead of remaining assigned to a single location.
  • You adjust the equipment to suit you during the treatment. With a shampoo unit built into the lounger, you move around the client. Here, you slide the basin to wherever it is most convenient to stand.

Who it is for

For a salon where Head SPA is intended to complement existing stations rather than occupy a separate room. You position the shampoo unit next to an existing chair or lounger and roll it back against the wall after the treatment.

FAQ

Can the shampoo unit be set up without a water connection?
No. Model 050 requires a water supply and drain, just like a traditional hairdressing shampoo unit. The closed circuit applies only to the water massage ring, which recirculates water from the basin.

Does the shampoo unit have a water tank and heater?
No. The mixer tap and temperature control on the panel operate using water supplied from the plumbing system.

What are the wheels for, then?
To roll the shampoo unit away after treatment and regain space, move it between stations with water connections, and position it conveniently during work. The wheels replace a fixed piece of furniture, not the installation.

Is a lounger included in the set?
No. Model 050 is the shampoo unit itself, positioned next to a chair or existing treatment station. The set also does not include a seat or stool.

How much space does the shampoo unit take up?
The upper section measures 65 x 57 cm, the lower housing section is 46 cm deep, and the housing is 57 cm high. In addition, there is a 42 cm-high steam hood when attached.

What is the difference between the soft, comfort, and strong modes?
These are three levels of water stream intensity delivered through the arch. The mode is selected on the control panel.

What is included in the set?
A shampoo unit on wheels, a shampoo basin cover (steam hood), and a steamer. The steamer is operated using the included remote control.

What should be used to disinfect the upholstery?
Alcohol-free products without strong detergents. Alcohol-based products and products such as Cif remove the protective layer from eco-leather, causing the material to become dull and lose its elasticity.
